In addition, the creatinine value is determined to determine the reliability of the urine sample.
Every person is sensitive to medication to varying degrees. Over- or underdosing is lurking, with all its consequences (side effects). Easly offers a DNA test that determines the DNA Medication Passport based on a saliva sample in our laboratory.
The advantages:
The microorganisms in our intestines have a major influence on our health and how vital we feel. With the microbiome test we determine which bacteria are present in what proportion based on a sample collected at home in our laboratory. The test can provide a solution for:
Do you want to know where your allergy complaints come from? Our Allergy Center tests for approximately 150 inhalant allergens. Based on a questionnaire and a subsequent video consultation with our doctor, it is determined which allergens should be included in the blood test.
In addition, the creatinine value is determined to determine the reliability of the urine sample.

Easly introduces the Pharmacogenetics Test. This is a DNA test for medication where our medical laboratory analyzes your saliva – which you can collect at home – to then establish the DNA Medication Passport. This passport records how your body processes medication, allowing your doctor and pharmacist to better tailor the dosage of your medication to your unique genetic profile.

Not everyone processes medications in the same way. The degree to which your body processes medications is genetically determined. We call this the genetic profile for medication use. Understanding this profile is essential for optimizing medication dosages. A dosage that is too high for one person, causing side effects, may have no effect on another. The dosage in which a medication is effective but not too high is called the therapeutic window. Often in practice, the standard dose is prescribed, without taking into account individual sensitivity to medication. Experimentally, the effect is then observed and the dosage adjusted if necessary. This is not efficient.
Pharmacogenetics investigates the influence of genetic differences on the processing of medications in the body. How do genes influence the metabolism and transport of medications? How can side effects be reduced or prevented? In other words, how can the effectiveness of the treatment be improved?
How enzymes process drugs in the liver is genetically determined. This can be classified into four groups:
Initially, a DNA test for medications is useful for people who use medications regularly – or even daily. For them, the information to determine the correct dosage will have the greatest impact. Especially if you regularly experience side effects or if medications do not work, it is good to do pharmacogenetic research. Ultimately, the research is useful for everyone, even when not taking medications daily. It is useful to have the DNA Medication Passport available when you later need medication prescribed.
Easly’s pharmacogenetic test maps the 29 most important genes that control the processing/efficacy of medication in your body. Our medical laboratory uses Third Generation Sequencing for this purpose. This is unique in the Netherlands: other providers usually use the array technique, which cannot detect all genetic variants. The result of the test is called the DNA Medication Passport. This is a personal profile that enables your doctor and pharmacist to create an efficient personalized medication plan.
The test result only indicates the efficacy of medications processed by the liver. Advice is available for over 130 medications. We adhere to both the guidelines in force in the United States and those of the Dutch Pharmacogenetics Working Group (DPWG). Incidentally, the list of drugs investigated is updated every year.
Pharmacogenetic research can easily be conducted at home. A saliva sample is sufficient. You spit a little saliva at home into the tube that comes with the test kit, which we will send you after ordering. Then you can send the sample to our laboratory in the free return envelope.
The laboratory requires four weeks for a thorough analysis. Then we will share your personal DNA Medication Passport with you in a secure online portal. Confidentially, of course. If necessary or desired, you can share your DNA Medication Passport with your doctor and pharmacist.
With the information in the DNA Medication Passport, an existing medication plan can be adjusted, or medication can be prescribed more precisely in the future, at the right dosage.
The pharmacogenetic test examines 29 genes that are crucial for the metabolism and processing of medications in the body. These genes play a key role in how the body responds to various types of medication.
The technique used in our ISO-15189 accredited laboratory is Third Generation Sequencing. This method examines more genetic information than the traditional array technique. The array technique looks at common genetic variants. The advanced technique used in Easly’s laboratory offers a more comprehensive analysis and a more complete picture. The resulting DNA Medication Passport is therefore more precise.
Pharmacogenetics is the science that studies the influence of genes on the processing of medications by enzymes in the liver. Knowledge about the speed at which drugs are metabolized into their active or inactive forms is important because it determines how drugs are processed and the potential experience of side effects. Pharmacogenetic tests map out genetic knowledge that provides information about the medication processing of individuals.
The test is completely painless and can be carried out at home. After purchase, the test kit is delivered to your home. The package contains a tube in which you must spit some saliva. You send the sample in the free return envelope to our ISO-15189 accredited laboratory, where it is processed. After four weeks, the results are provided in a secure online environment. If desired, the results can also be communicated with the individual’s own general practitioner and pharmacist, for example if it is necessary to adjust an existing medication regimen.
The DNA Medication Passport is the result of the Pharmacogenetic Test, and contains personal information about how your liver enzymes metabolize drugs. There are four groups, from rapid to slow metabolism. With this classification, a doctor or pharmacist can determine the correct dosage for you for more than 130 different medications.
If the test is performed on medical indication from a doctor, it may be reimbursed by the health insurance. Fill out the Quickscan on the website for this.
A DNA profile contains an overview of genetic information that is unique to the individual.
Initially, the results will only be shared with you, in a secure online environment. Your medical information will be treated confidentially. If you wish, your DNA Medication Passport can also be shared with your general practitioner and/or pharmacist.
