After a series of rigorous audits, Easly, a provider of preventive medical self-tests, has been rewarded with the ISO 27001 certificate. Additionally, the company has once again successfully completed the audit for NEN 7510 certification. Director Jeroen de Jong stated, “It is reassuring to receive confirmation that we handle the medical information of our customers with extraordinary care.”

Information security is a crucial issue in medical care. The sensitive information of patients cannot be shared lightly and must be adequately protected against unauthorized access. Since May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been in effect throughout the EU concerning this matter.

Secure storage and communication

Easly offers medical self-tests and develops innovative digital solutions aimed at relieving the healthcare systems in the Netherlands and Belgium. Information security is a top priority at the company, according to Director Jeroen de Jong.

"Every self-test for which we process the samples in our laboratory yields a new piece of medically validated information by our doctor, which we share with our customers in an online environment and in our app. We consider it of utmost importance to communicate and store these results in a secure manner."

Hence, the company recently subjected internal processes designed to ensure the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of information within the organization to a series of audits. The result: the awarding of the ISO 27001 certificate and the extension of the previously granted NEN 7510 certificate to Easly.

Innovative Solutions

ISO 27001 is a globally recognized standard in the field of information security. NEN 7510 is a standard for information security in the healthcare sector. With the granting of both certificates, Easly is well-positioned in terms of information security.

"It is reassuring to receive confirmation that we handle the medical information of our customers with extraordinary care," says de Jong. "Personal and company data are well-protected against hacking and intrusion. In the coming period, we will continue to focus on innovative solutions to alleviate the pressure on healthcare, with special attention to the privacy-sensitive aspects of digital medical services."
