What Are We Testing For inside TATT (Tired all the time) Blood Test?

In the lab, we assess a broad range of biomarkers (detailed in the “What biomarkers are tested for?” section). Here, we provide a brief overview of what we test for in our blood tests for fatigue and how it may be pertinent to your fatigue symptoms.

Anemia

Anemia is a significant potential contributor to fatigue. We assess your complete blood count to identify any signs of anemia. Further, by analyzing your iron status, we can ascertain whether an iron deficiency is the cause of anemia or may potentially lead to it. Vitamin B12 deficiency is another possible cause of anemia, and we evaluate this along with holotranscobalamin, which helps us to determine if there’s a deficiency at both the blood and tissue level.

Possible Inflammatory Reactions (hs-CRP)

The hs-CRP marker helps to identify long-standing minor inflammatory responses in the body, which may lead to fatigue. Prolonged low-grade inflammation also contributes to atherosclerosis, thus an elevated hs-CRP can also suggest an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Recent bacterial or viral infections could be another reason for high hs-CRP levels.
