If total cholesterol is higher than 5, there is an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.<\/p>\n<h2>Total Cholesterol Values and Interpretation<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Normal:<\/strong><br \/>\nA total cholesterol level between <strong>0 and 5.00 mmol\/L<\/strong> is considered normal. This indicates healthy cholesterol levels and a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Please note:<\/strong><br \/>\nWhen the total cholesterol value is between <strong>5.00 and 5.18 mmol\/L<\/strong>, it is considered \u201celevated.\u201d This means that the value is at the upper limit of normal. It may be advisable to consider lifestyle or dietary modifications to prevent further rise.<\/li>\n<li><strong>High:<\/strong><br \/>\nA total cholesterol value above <strong>5.18 mmol\/L<\/strong> is considered abnormal and too high. This may indicate an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
